~ We tell you about our entire production process, without filters ~

Most of the production process is done in our factory. The rest are intermediate processes developed by highly trusted and experienced collaborators from Barcelonès.

We tell you each of the steps of our production process so that you can get to know us a little more:

1. DESIGN:

Inside our factory, our designers create the first idea for the new collections.

Before starting to design, it is very important to draw on ideas, shapes, colors, textures and trends that are or will be on the market. Image moodboards are basic to start developing collections.

This is how all the designs are born, which are adapted to reach the timeless basics that you like so much.

2. PATTERN:

Based on these designs, we create the patterns and fit the garments, to verify that each one of them fits perfectly.

If there are many fixes in production, a second prototype is made to validate the proposed changes to the pattern.

Once the pattern is approved, we make the gradings (different sizes) and we have it ready for production!

3. CUT:

Once the collection has been outlined and all the prototypes have been designed, we proceed to cut all the pattern pieces in our factory.

Several layers of fabric are stretched and all sizes are cut at the same time, combining them to make better use of the fabric.

3. PACKAGING:

After cutting, the pieces are separated by size and prepared for the manufacturing process. All the trimmings (buttons, rubber bands, ribbons, etc.) are selected and taken to the clothing workshop, which for them is "sewing and singing".

All the garments are made of cotton thread because it is very important when it comes to giving color to the models.

4. DYEING:

One of the peculiarities of our product, which differentiates it from the majority, is the use of garment dyeing. This means that we make our garments with the fabric still in an ecru color and then we dye the pieces according to the colors of the collection. Piece dyeing provides a special and unique look to each specimen and helps us control production and stock.

This style of dyeing allows you to dye only the garments that you really need and estimate that you are going to sell. On the other hand, the collections that work in roll dyeing (the fabric is dyed before making) have very high production minimums and can lead to overstocking to reach the minimum required by the technique.

With garment dyeing we avoid excess stock and waste of resources.

5. IRON:

Once the garments have come out of the dye, they are ready to be ironed. At this time the last quality control of the garments is carried out, we make sure that the finishes are adequate and we separate the defects.

At this point the garments are labeled and packaged to deliver to our clients.

6. DISTRIBUTION:

The last step of the cycle is to get our garments into your hands, and they will be ready to be enjoyed! Did you know that during our entire production process, most of the garments do not travel more than 69km?

Contrary to large multinationals, which encourage relocation and exploitation, at POEMS we promote small local businesses, generating a locally sustainable movement to thus close an efficient economy cycle.
